General Terms and Conditions
- Quotes and estimates are valid for 30 days. Quote accuracy is dependent on the level of detail supplied at the time of enquiry and can vary as options or compromises are discussed with the client during the mould design process. After initial discussions DMD will develop one moulding option within the agreement (eg insitu or precast, foam or steel). Developing additional options will incur additional costs.
- DMD will invoice for a deposit to start the project, refine the mould / process design and finalise costs. Small projects and new clients may be invoiced the full amount. The project does not start until deposit is received and dimensions supplied. DMD require accurate dimensions of the parts to be produced. Other useful information includes: as-built drawings, 2D CAD files, 3D models, site constraints and engineering specifications. The better the information the faster and more accurate the result. On deposit DMD will begin mould design resolution and supply dimensioned 2D drawings of the moulded concrete parts for confirmation. Design changes made by the client or missing details during this process may incur additional cost and/or extension of the timeline.
- The client must sign-off on the 2D drawings to proceed to the next stage. It is important to check against as-built dimensions as alterations and/or corrections are inexpensive to make at this stage. Changes at any stage of the process must be formally approved, progress is held until approval. Any additional drawing required by the client for a third party (outside of defining the concrete for mould making) will be charged at an hourly drafting rate. If a client stipulates a design that is against our recommendations DMD take no responsibility for its performance.
- On approval of the design a progress payment may be required to start production. Sometimes this payment is the same as the deposit depending on the timeline and scale of the project.
- Mould construction is dependent on CNC machine and fabrication schedules, this may vary timeline estimates depending on DMD commitments and workloads at the time of sign-off. We will book the next window for fabrication once deposit and dimensions are supplied.
- Delivery estimates will be most accurate once mould construction begins. Should the delivery date be postponed by the client a storage cost will be incurred until delivery.
- Before delivery a final invoice will be issued for the balance of the total project cost. Final invoices will include any variations approved by both parties during the course of the project and any shipping charges.
- All mould parts will be delivered labelled, with layout maps and diagrams. DMD offers phone support for those adapting to our new systems.
- On delivery, all parts must be checked for transport damage and signed-off as accepted. Once unloaded from our carrier DMD takes no responsibility for loss or damage. Foam moulds are susceptible to damage with bad handling though this can usually be repaired on-site.
- Critical deliveries are best made early due to courier issues and to create a margin for error rectification. If on delivery a part is found to contain errors, DMD reserves the right to provide the solution with priority time frame which may include partial or fully remade parts and/or adaptors.
- Engineering of precast concrete parts is to be supplied by the client, i.e. reinforcing bars, mesh specifications, concrete MPA etc.
- Any delays in communication, decisions, supply of detail, sign-off on design or payments will affect the cost and timeline of the project. Confirmation of production bookings and timelines occur when all information and payments are up to date.
- Refunds: should a project be cancelled by the client after deposits or payments made, or designs shared, a charge will be deducted from the refund for drafting, design, scheduling and any fabrication work done up to that date in the project.
